G.E.R. Wilson started the insurance agency at 23 King Street East in Colborne in 1886. In 1940 W.W.D. McGlennon returned to Colborne from Toronto and purchased the agency. Wally ran the business with his wife Opal until his sudden death in 1949. Their son Duncan McGlennon then left the banking industry to join the agency which later became a brokerage. David McGlennon joined the business in 1984 after graduating from university. Dave McGlennon is the third generation McGlennon in the insurance business and the fourth generation McGlennon in business on King Street in Colborne.
